California vernal pools are a rare type of wetland that exists in very few places on earth. One such place is a busy corner of San Diego’s Miramar College, offering a special educational opportunity for the public as well as for students—to learn about the history of the site, the ecosystem and its flora and fauna, including unusual and endangered species. Graphic Solutions’ interpretive graphics incorporate rock container supports and benches, and illustrate this unique place in a series of panels along a trail system through the protected, fragile habitat.
