San Diego’s 2,900-seat Civic Theatre hosts large-scale Broadway musicals, grand opera, and other major performances, welcoming thousands of patrons throughout the year. The theatre’s renovation provided an opportunity to rethink its signage and wayfinding while creating a system that complemented the refreshed interior aesthetic. Working closely with theatre staff, Graphic Solutions developed a cohesive approach to navigation that makes it easier for patrons to quickly locate entrances, seating areas, and amenities. Directional signage was carefully designed for clarity and improved readability in the theatre’s semi-dark environment, helping visitors move confidently through the space while minimizing distractions from the performance experience.
